We encouraged schools to get involved in this year’s Trees for Schools program to help increase tree canopy cover and create more green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Eligible schools applied for up to 50 trees through an expression of interest process open to every primary and secondary school in our service area.
This year we received an overwhelming number of applications, and it’s inspiring to see such strong interest in creating a greener future for our region. In total, 89 schools will receive 3,552 trees, thank you for being part of this positive change. See below for the full list of this year's winning schools.
Key dates:
Monday, June 30 – July 4: Delivery of stakes and guards will begin. Please allow up to two weeks for completion.
Monday, July 21: Tree deliveries will commence. These may also take up to two weeks.
Friday, July 25: National Trees for Schools Day – a great opportunity to plan your planting activities!
The Trees for Schools program is a partnership between GWW, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and local councils through the More Trees for a Cooler Greener West program and Greening the West.
