Our Thriving Communities grants program supports local projects, events and activities that bring people together.
In 2026 we awarded approximately $180,000 in grants and sponsorships to 26 local community groups across Melbourne’s west, supporting projects that strengthen community connections, celebrate culture, care for the environment and help local communities thrive.
Thriving Communities grants are awarded at two levels:
You can apply for up to $5,000 to fund a community event or to build or beautify a place for communities to enjoy if you:
Are a non-profit organisation based in our service region
Are running a one-off program or event
Can deliver your activity within financial year 2026/27
Support equity, opportunity and inclusion in our community
You can apply for up to $20,000 for projects that will benefit the community beyond the life of the project or create opportunities for locals to learn new skills or lead impactful projects, if you:
Are a non-profit organisation operating in our region
Supports development in the region that will leave a lasting impact on your community
Can commence your activity within financial year 2026/27
