Is my card eligible?

You can claim a concession if you have:

• a Pensioner Concession Card
• a Health Care Card
• a Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card.

For more information on water and sewerage concessions, visit the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

You can only register one card for your property.

If you hold an eligible concession card but your name is not on the bill, email us at concessionenquiries@gww.com.au for assistance. 

Other conditions

To claim a concession, you must also:

• be the main account holder
• be applying for the property you live at
• have the same name and address on your card and your bill.

If your card and account details don’t match, contact Services Australia or the Department of Veteran Affairs to update your card.

To apply for a concession on a business property, contact the State Revenue Office.

How much is the concession?

We offer a rebates off water, sewerage and usage charges to customers who are concession card holders.

For the 2022/23 financial year, the following concession amounts can be applied to eligible residential accounts:

• 50% rebate on water and sewerage charges up to a yearly maximum of $354.10
• 50% rebate on single service, e.g. water only, up to a maximum of $177.05

The concession amount is distributed evenly across the bills you receive from us each year.

We can backdate concessions up to 12 months from your application dates. Contact Centerlink for backdated concessions greater than 12 months.

You can’t claim a concession:

• on the Parks Charge 
• on the Waterways and Drainage Charge
• when you are a landlord not living in the property.
