If you paid for a plumber to inspect your pipes and they found a blockage within our network, you may be eligible for a reimbursement for fair and reasonable costs associated with a plumber's call out, up to a maximum of $500.
To receive reimbursement, the fault or blockage needs to have been attended and confirmed by one of our network crews or accredited contractors.
Work we won’t reimburse
We won’t reimburse:
A blockage which has not been referred to GWW
any work to private pipes done by your plumber
excavation work
CCTV costs to determine location of blockage
exposing a boundary trap/inspection shaft
equipment hire
cleared tree roots
chemicals used to dissolve the blockage
works where a high-pressure water jet cleaner was used
unauthorised work on GWW assets
plumbing costs more than six months old
IO markers and Inspection Shafts
Property owners are required to always keep the Inspection Shafts (IS) and Inspection Opening (IO) marker accessible and above ground.
If your IO or IS does not have a point to surface, the property owner is required to engage a licensed plumber to investigate and raise it to the surface at their own cost.
Once the IS and IO markers are at the point of surface:
If it is full, the customer can contact GWW, and we will return to clear the blockage.
If it is empty, it is the plumber’s responsibility to clear any internal blockage.
How to make a claim
To make a claim, fill out the Plumbing expenses customer reimbursement form and email it to reimbursements@gww.com.au along with your plumber’s receipt.
