An enforceable undertaking is a written agreement between us and our regulator, the Essential Services Commission (ESC). Enforceable undertakings support the long-term interests of Victorians. Water corporations may offer an enforceable undertaking in situations where the organisation has not met ESC standards under the Essential Services Commission Act 2001.
An enforceable undertaking will outline what we will do to improve our performance and ensure future compliance of the water industry standards through a number of actions that are delivered over several years. If we enter into an enforceable undertaking we are recognising our shortcomings and promising to do better for our customers.
