Temporary water supply change – Gisborne, Riddells Creek, Macedon, Mount Macedon and Woodend

On Monday 23 June, we’re switching the water source for Gisborne, Gisborne South, New Gisborne, Macedon, Mt Macedon, Riddells Creek and Woodend from Rosslynne Reservoir to Melbourne’s supply system.
We’re making this change so we can carry out planned maintenance at the Rosslynne Water Filtration Plant. This work is scheduled to take several months and we expect to switch back to local supply by early November.
We use a range of water sources across our network to meet the needs of our growing region. This ensures a reliable water supply during maintenance or when demand is high.
Customers in these areas may notice a slight change in the taste or smell of their tap water during the switch. This is due to the different treatment processes used for the Melbourne supply and is nothing to be concerned about – your water remains safe to drink and meets all drinking water standards.
