If you're a commercial food business that produces wastewater, you'll need a trade waste consent.

A food business could be a:

If you're a customer who generates liquid waste from an industrial business process, you will need to apply for a trade waste agreement.

An industrial business could be a:

bakery
retail butcher or deli
restaurant, cafeteria or canteen
school
cafe
function centre
supermarket
fast food or takeaway shop
caterer
ice cream shop
commercial kitchen.

meat processing plant
food manufacturer
metal finisher
car wash
hospital or other institution
laundry or chemical plant
water treatment plant
mechanical workshop
construction site that manages storm or groundwater.

You are applying for a trade agreement.

All applications must include details of:

fixtures at your site
your treatment apparatus size and management procedures (if there is a grease trap at your site)
activities on site that generate trade waste, treatment methods and the volumes of trade waste produced.

You will be asked to upload:

hydraulic plans
a site layout plan (for new or temporary discharge customers)
a process and instrumentation diagram
a risk assessment (optional)
a trade waste treatment plan
a storm water drainage and sewer plan (if required)
details of the substances or chemicals used at your site
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

All applicants are expected to provide a trade waste treatment plan prior to the discharge of trade waste into our sewerage network.

When we prepare or renew a trade waste agreement or consent, you will be charged a one-off application processing fee, based on the complexity and risk of your site.

New site

If you are setting up your business on a new site, or if you have never held a previous trade waste agreement with GWW for the site you occupy.

Change of occupier or site operator

If you are the new owner or tenant at an existing site that already holds a trade waste agreement with GWW.

Agreement renewal

If the site has an existing trade waste agreement that is due to expire, and you would like to retain it.

Temporary discharge

If you would like to apply for a short-term agreement so you can dispose of trade waste within an agreed timeframe (i.e.: construction groundwater or stormwater).

If you are a new customer, you will be asked to upload a site layout plan at the completion of this form.
