Fast-tracked funds to plan Parwan water and sewer connections

Planning for vital new water, sewer and power infrastructure to service the Parwan Employment Precinct will be fast-tracked with funding announced this week.
The Victorian Government is investing $200,000, with Greater Western Water and Moorabool Shire Council each contributing $25,000 towards the planning project designed to help activate growth in the region, located south of Bacchus Marsh.
The combined $250,000 budget will cover detailed assessments by GWW and Powercor to provide design options and construction costs for delivering water, sewer and power services to the area.
Our Managing Director, Maree Lang joined Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle MP, Member for Melton Steve McGhie MP and Moorabool Mayor, Councillor Tom Sullivan, at the Bacchus Marsh Recycled Water Plant to announce the funding.
“Greater Western Water’s contribution to this project demonstrates our commitment to working with partners to support growth and development in our regional communities,” Ms Lang said.
“Extension of water and sewer networks will give local agribusiness opportunities to expand and ensure vital services are available for establishing new businesses.
“Parwan Employment Precinct has significant potential to be a thriving agricultural district and this investment coincides with construction of the Western Irrigation Network, a major regional project to supply local farmers with a reliable source of recycled water.”
The Parwan Employment Precinct has potential to create more than 1500 local jobs and provide $186 million economic benefit to the region.
