Melton South residents to benefit from water infrastructure upgrade

A two-kilometre permanent water pipeline will be built in Melton South as part of Greater Western Water's (GWW) commitment to delivering a reliable and secure water supply for local residents.
The new water pipeline will replace temporary infrastructure previously installed, providing a long-term, reliable water supply to support Melton South's growing community.
The pipeline will be built along Exford Road, Bridge Road and between Rees and Exford roads, with construction expected to start in September this year and take approximately 12 months to complete.
GWW's General Manager of Asset Planning and Delivery, Ian Burton, said the Melton South community was experiencing rapid growth.
"The new water main will provide the capacity needed to support the community now and into the future and help deliver a consistent and reliable water supply for our customers," he said.
"Works will be delivered in stages to minimise disruption during construction, and we'll continue to work closely with residents and businesses to provide updates on the project."
GWW will hold an information session on Saturday, 15 August at Opalia Plaza, 201 Exford Road, Weir Views, from 11-2pm, where community members can learn more about the project and upcoming construction work in the area.
