The Community Spring Fair is a four-hour, family-friendly event designed to strengthen community connection, cultural inclusion, and environmental sustainability in the Shire of Moorabool. Delivered with the support of approximately 200 volunteers, the fair is expected to engage around 1,500 participants.
The event will provide educational workshops on worm farming, seed propagation, pruning, and soil microbiomes, promoting food security and sustainable living. Affordable family activities include face painting, an animal farm, and interactive games. Cultural engagement will be highlighted through performances by Fatai and Tongan dancers.
Youth engagement is central to the project, with young people leading games, running art workshops, and showcasing baking, craft, and market stalls that reflect diverse cultural foods and nutritional awareness. The fair will foster intergenerational relationships, mentorship, and inclusion of newcomers, while showcasing local community groups, products, and partnerships. These partnerships build resilience, wellbeing, creativity, leadership, and long-term collaboration across families, youth, cultures, locally.
