Celebrate Diversity Inc. will deliver a culturally inclusive water celebration program for at least 250+ CALD seniors across Wyndham. Through 4 multilingual workshops (Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, English), participants will share water stories from their home countries, learn practical water conservation, and connect with GWW services.
Each workshop blends three elements: cultural storytelling honouring participants' traditional water relationships; practical education on water-saving techniques, GWW rebates and learning how to access GWW website for information and digital services; and indoor-table games to engage and entertain seniors. The outcome will be to build lasting household water-saving behaviour and connection within the GWW community.
Celebrate Diversity has partnership with 14 seniors clubs across Wyndham and Melton (representing 2,500+ members) that have provided support letters to co-host workshops, provide venues, and mobilise participants. Four workshops will be delivered in four different languages, targeting at least 250+ participants for this program.
This responds to documented community need: CALD seniors face language barriers and limited awareness of GWW services. Our partner network has specifically requested culturally inclusive, multilingual awareness programs, and engagement for wellbeing. The project empowers a hard-to-reach cohort, celebrates cultural diversity through shared connection and stories related to water conservation practices for a lasting social-impact.
