High quality drinking water delivered to customer taps in 2021-22

In 2021-22, we delivered 125 billion litres of high quality drinking water to 597,551 properties, meeting our commitment to customers and the requirements of Victoria’s Safe Drinking Water Act 2003.
To make sure we deliver safe and high quality drinking water, we have a comprehensive water quality monitoring program. Water samples are collected from 34 water sampling localities across our service area - at reservoirs, water filtration plants, water storage tanks, pump stations and customer taps.
In 2021-22, a total of 71,000 tests were taken and analysed by an independent accredited laboratory.
These tests showed that we fully complied with the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act 2003. We achieved partial compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Regulations 2015 due to a small number of tests (479 out of 71,000) being missed. To make sure tests are not missed in future, we are reviewing our sampling and verification processes.
