From 1 July 2024, property owners who receive the parks charge will be charged quarterly, instead of annually.
Spreading the charge across four bills will ensure more consistent and manageable payments throughout the year.
We collect the parks charge on behalf of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. This helps Parks Victoria look after some of Melbourne’s most iconic parks and gardens, trails, zoos and waterways. Find out more about the parks charge.
Although this change will affect most property owners, some who are not connected to our water system will continue to receive the parks charge annually.
