New water fountains promote healthy and sustainable living for the Maribyrnong community
24 December 2021
We’ve partnered with the City of Maribyrnong to install seven new water fountains across the local community to help keep you hydrated, just in time for summer.
As part of our Choose Tap program, the water fountains make it easy for you to take action against single-use plastics and refill your water bottle on the go.
The new water fountains are wheelchair accessible and conveniently located to safely and easily fill (and refill) reusable drink bottles while out and about. The water stations also include a special feature for thirsty four-legged friends - with a push of a foot button, a bowl lowers to the ground, instantly filling with fresh water for your pup.
The first phase of the collaboration has rolled out, with brand new water stations installed at Yarraville Oval, McIvor Reserve and Anglers Rest, near the Anglers Tavern on Chifley Drive, Maribyrnong. Further stations will be installed later this year at Hansen Reserve, Thompson Reserve, Henry Turner South Pavilion and Beaton Reserve.
Every minute, approximately 1,440 single-use plastic bottles are sent to landfill in Australia. By carrying a reusable drink bottle, you can help protect our environment and save some money by not purchasing bottled water.
