Next up – Customer Care Days are visiting Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay
24 March 2026
Greater Western Water (GWW) is continuing its support for customers across Melbourne's west and inner‑north by delivering its next set of Customer Care Days throughout April.
The sessions will take place across the Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay areas including, Braybrook, Altona, Laverton, Werribee, Altona Meadows, Newport, Ascot Vale and Williamstown, making it easier for customers to access personalised assistance close to home.
Greater Western Water General Manager for Customer Experience Terence Alvares spoke to the importance of making GWW staff and services available to all GWW customers.
"We're hosting Customer Care Days across our entire service region, where our staff can help explain bills, charges and payment options directly to our community, plus it's been great to see that 93.5% of those conversations have been positive." Mr Alvares said.
Another important aspect of the Customer Care Day program is partnering with community organisations, neighbourhood houses, libraries and community centres, so customers can access help in familiar, trusted spaces.
"We are committed to the communities we serve and work with local organisations such as West Welcome Wagon and the Migrant Support Centre North West Region, who assist vulnerable residents including asylum seekers, migrants, cultural groups and older people," Mr Alvares said.
Betty Huang from the Migrant Support Centre North West Region said GWW's values are evident in how the organisation approaches its community engagement work.
"We organised a Customer Care Day session in January for the Afghan Women's Group, in our local suburb, Sunshine. The event created a welcoming space where our community members felt comfortable asking questions, receiving guidance, and connecting with services in a culturally appropriate way," Ms Huang said.
"These events bring information directly to people who may face challenges accessing support. The informal conversations build understanding and trust, something that's hard to achieve over the phone or online," she continued.
GWW will continue to host Customer Care Days across the GWW service region over the remainder of the year, strengthening GWW's ongoing commitment to building resilient, connected communities.
