We’ve completed an upgrade on the water main at Royal Parade.
We began working on this project in May 2023 and the new main was completed in January 2024. We completed the upgrade in partnership with Fulton Hogan.
The successful completion of the Elizabeth Street Sewer Upgrade is a positive step to ensuring continued safe and reliable sewerage services in Melbourne’s CBD.
The project is vital for supporting the growing needs of people living, working and visiting the area by making sure they have access to reliable essential services.
The works involved installing a new 700-metre-long sewer pipe under Elizabeth Street from Lonsdale Street to Victoria Street.
We’re investing $29 million to build two new water tanks at Bald Hill in Sunbury.
This project will double the area’s drinking water storage capacity, ensuring a secure supply of drinking water to meet the needs of up to 10,000 properties.
Each tank will stand 9 metres high with a diameter of 44 metres. In total, the tanks will have the capacity to hold 20 million litres of water — equivalent to eight Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The Western Irrigation Network (WIN) is a $116 million project jointly funded by the Australian Government, Greater Western Water and the private agribusinesses who will become the network’s foundation customers.
The network will connect dryland farmers in the Parwan-Balliang area, near Bacchus Marsh, with a guaranteed supply of Class C recycled water suitable for irrigation farming.
The new drinking water tank is located at the corner of Minns Rd and Bulmans Rd in Melton.
We’re investing $24 million to replace the existing tank with a more durable and larger tank.
The new tank is made from welded steel and measures 70 metres in diameter and reaches 11.5 metres high. It will have the capacity to hold 30 million litres – which is enough water to fill 12 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
