The Cricket Blast Program, run by Grand United Cricket Club, offers children from Sunshine the chance to learn to play cricket, and improve their physical fitness, learn a new skill, meet new people and spend time outdoors.
The program begins with 20 weeks of collaborative theatre-making workshops led by professional artists. These sessions build connection and creative skills, and lead to three public performance events at Wyndham Cultural Centre, The Bowery Theatre St Albans and Bluestone Church Arts Space, Footscray.
NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC week is held in July and gives all Australians an opportunity to learn about First Nations Cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
The Western Metro NAIDOC Ball invites the community from seven local government areas to come together, meet new people and celebrate at the end of NAIDOC week.
