Each year, Carols in the Gardens celebrates the magic of the festive season with a night of music and celebration, featuring the Footscray Yarraville City Band, internationally acclaimed vocalists, a spectacular massed choir and a fireworks display.

The Youth Tournament is a community-focused, youth-led event that brings together people from all cultural backgrounds. The shape of the event, including competitions and activities, will be decided in consultation with the community, to make sure it reflects the diversity and interests of the potential participants.

The Lions Gisborne Festival is a free and inclusive event that brings the community together to celebrate the festive season. Now in its 50th year, the festival attracts more than 4,500 people from Gisborne and the surrounding areas.

While the Multicultural Music, Dance and Food Festival is cultural celebration, the event also promotes environmental awareness and sustainable water use in the community.

SunFest is a celebration of diversity with cultural and Indigenous performances and workshops. People of all abilities are welcome and inclusivity is celebrated in the event’s Parade and Colour Run.

Removing invasive weeds from the Pinkerton Link Wildlife Corridor will make room for the growth of indigenous plants, creating a habitat for native animals to live in the area. Many of the area’s native plants and animals are endangered due to increased urbanisation and decreasing habitat. The project helps to sustain and enhance the area’s existing biodiversity.

The Women of Colour Wellness Workshop series fosters connection, resilience and self-care while embedding sustainability education and highlighting the link between environmental and mental wellness. Through culturally safe programming and partnerships, the series will create spaces where Women of Colour can thrive, feel seen, and build lasting community.

INCommunity offers a range of life-skill focused services, ranging from health support to youth mentoring, budgeting advice and family violence resources. Their new factory will host a regular community cafe to build a sense of community among locals and offer a place for those in need to access essential items.

The volunteer-run Gardening Club at the Sunbury Children’s Garden shows children how to plant and grow fruit and vegetables, encourages healthy eating and allows children to spend time outdoors with their friends. By spending time gardening, children learn the value of patience and fresh produce.

Christmas At The Lakes celebrates the festive season and the diversity of the local community. It welcomes all diverse and multi-cultural groups, especially new residents, and is designed so everyone feels included.
